Elvis Tops British Singles Charts for Second Week Running

AFP is reporting [1]:

“A reissue of the late Elvis Presley’s 1959 hit One Night topped the 1,000th edition of the British single charts this week, the second week in a row for the King to top British pop charts following last week’s success with Jailhouse Rock. “

OK, I’ll say this up front. I’m not a major Elvis fan. He’s OK, I can take him or leave him, though I hold his treatment of Eddie Rabbit’s “Kentucky Rain” to be among my favorite recordings.

But when a guy who has been dead for around 30 years makes the charts in this fashion… well, all it proves is what utter crap is being turned out by the music companies today.
