A story runnning on the AP Newswire [1] is rather astonishing:
“A group of armed, masked Iraqi men threatened Tuesday to kill Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi if he did not immediately leave the country, accusing him of murdering innocent Iraqis and defiling the Muslim religion. ”
I must admit to some mixed reaction, here. Certainly I am encouraged by the reaction of the Iraqi people and always knew that this kind of reaction would eventually happen. Yet, I’m concerned; Assuming he takes these people at their word, and leaves, where does he go? Seems to me part of the genius of going into Iraq in the first place was putting all the bad apples in one basket.
