You can always figure somebody’s priorities, by what they do and do not do.
A case in point would be last night’s Oscar awards.
How is it that the academy managed to find time to award Al Gore for his propaganda film, but somehow, after eight tries, has never managed to get an award to Peter O’Toole who actually deserved it? That’s eight times this guy’s been denied…. robbed, in fact…. treated like a rank journeyman.
If I were to counsel Mr. O’Toole this morning, I would advise him not to worry about it much; the bottom line is they were never about acting and good filmmaking, anyway.
